Super Local Sports News | Leeds fans reapond to James Trafford signing

Leeds United have completed the signing of James Trafford for a club record fee

We have been asking Leeds fans for their opinions. Is this a good signing? Does it represent good value for money?

Phil: This is a bold but smart move for Leeds. It is a hefty price tag, but it demonstrates a real commitment to establishing Leeds as a Premier League force. Trafford has yet to truly establish himself in the Premier League, but he now has the platform to take his career to the next level and help Leeds avoid being labelled a ‘yo-yo’ club.

Maddie: It is absolutely sensational. I’ve got tears in my eyes. I’m still waiting for someone to scream: ‘April Fools!’

Lara: Leeds have overpaid for Trafford. Somewhere around £25m-£30m would have been a fairer price. The 20% sell-on clause Manchester City have negotiated is steep, too. If you are paying £45m, you would expect to keep the full value of any future transfer fee. This looks like better business for City than it does for Leeds.
